Rani Mukerji's Mardaani 3 Set to Begin Shooting in June Report

The shooting for Mardaani 3 is expected to begin in June 2025, with preparations currently underway. The film’s team is conducting look tests for key characters, and the screenplay is being refined.

Rani Mukerji will reprise her iconic role as Shivani Shivaji Roy, the fearless cop. Fans have eagerly awaited her return since the film was officially announced in August 2024. Director Abhiraj Minawala has already started the pre-production phase. According to sources, auditions are being held to introduce fresh faces, with special attention being given to casting a strong antagonist. The production team has also finalized the primary filming locations, with major scenes scheduled to take place in Mumbai and Delhi, while additional locations in North India are being explored.

In 2024, Rani expressed her pride in the Mardaani franchise, sharing her excitement about returning to the role. She said, “I’m proud of the Mardaani franchise, which continues to give so much love and respect. I look forward to bringing Shivani Shivaji Roy back on screen. It’s been a while since I’ve worn the cop uniform and paid tribute to the women in our police force.”

Rani confirmed the third installment of Mardaani in 2023, expressing her enthusiasm for the project and her hope to see Shivani’s character evolve.

The first Mardaani movie was released in 2014, followed by a successful sequel in 2019. Both films were box office successes.
